JOB DUTIES As a preschool teacher on the team, you will lead classes at preschools that are currently without a regular preschool teacher. In this role, you will be assigned to at least two preschools at a time and work at these preschools on a semester basis. This assignment includes holiday coverage. In addition to your duties as a preschool teacher, the following general responsibilities apply to preschool teachers in work teams. Under the direction of the principal, you will, among other things: • Mentor work teams to ensure that instruction aligns with the curriculum’s objectives. • Support and coach work teams to develop and maintain a high and consistent standard of quality in their work. • Lead identified processes that foster learning and contribute to achieving the curriculum goals. • Work in children’s groups to conduct instruction during both planned and spontaneous activities, and to capitalize on the children’s interests and promote their participation in learning. • Work with groups of children to serve as a positive role model in the preschool during all aspects of the preschool’s daily routine. • Stay informed about current research and incorporate it into the program and teaching. • Work to ensure that teaching is based on scientific evidence and proven experience. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for a licensed preschool teacher. You have strong collaboration skills and are independent, proactive, and goal-oriented. A positive attitude is essential. You are interested in developing new work methods and sharing knowledge and experiences with colleagues. You must also have demonstrated a particularly strong ability to improve the organization’s achievement of its goals and a strong interest in developing preschool education. As a person, you must also be assessed by the school district as particularly qualified for teaching and tasks related to teaching, and possess solid experience in preschool operations. You have a particularly strong ability to drive the development of teaching and learning, an interest in keeping abreast of current research in areas relevant to preschool education, and an ambition to bridge the gap between theory and practice. You should also be able to effectively mentor others in a collegial learning environment and work systematically with evaluation, analysis, and follow-up. You must have at least 5 years of experience as a preschool teacher. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
