The culture and education administration consists mainly of educational activities, but also of other functions that make the whole work. It also houses the municipality's cultural activities. Our central office at the City Hall is responsible for overall coordination, which is where you will be based.
Kiruna is in the midst of a historic urban transformation. The structure of society is changing, and our operations need to adapt to completely new conditions. We are now looking for an experienced and driven project manager who wants to lead the work of reorganization, relocation and new planning of the municipality's preschools and schools.

WORK TASKS
Kiruna municipality is facing major changes in the preschool and school area. Within the framework of urban transformation, a completely new preschool and primary school organization will be designed. Some preschools and schools will be closed, others will be adapted or newly built based on how Kiruna city develops. Our ambition is to create a sustainable, qualitative and efficient organization that delivers good education to all children and students in the Kiruna of the future. As a project manager, you will be the spider in the web for all these development processes together with a strong team of competent employees at all levels of the organization. You will have overall responsibility for investigating, planning, driving and coordinating processes both strategically and operationally. The assignment means having many balls in the air and being able to think both broadly and deeply together with others.
Among other things, you will:
- Lead and coordinate projects within the preschool and school organization
- Investigating, analyzing and risk assessing different options
- Coordinating relocations and planning new operational solutions
- Managing issues related to real estate, logistics, school routes, playgrounds, organization and catchment areas
- Collaborate with many parties internally and externally
- Plan anchoring and communication regarding employees and Kiruna citizens
- Responsible for project finances, administration and documentation, information
You will work closely with principals, administrative management, office, urban development department, finance department, KBAB, and other stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who have:
- Academic training in community planning, education, organizational development or other relevant training that the employer considers equivalent and useful
- Experience of organizing preschool and school activities with a municipal principal.
- Ability to deal with complex issues where community planning, business development, organization and pedagogy meet
- Ability to lead, drive and coordinate processes independently and creatively
- A structured, communicative and collaborative approach
- Excellent written and oral communication and documentation skills
Merit:
- Experience in project management
- Experience of working and managing projects in a politically governed organization
- Knowledge of budgeting, procurement and municipal management
