JOB DUTIES As a school counselor at Karesuando School, you will lead and develop social and psychosocial support initiatives at the individual, group, and organizational levels. The role involves providing support and serving as a resource for the school teams in their work with children’s and youth’s learning. You will help ensure that the school promotes health and takes preventive measures against mental health issues, bullying, abusive treatment, discrimination, and harassment. You will also help ensure that all students achieve their academic goals and develop socially and emotionally in an environment that promotes learning. In the role of school counselor, you will also be required to collaborate with other professionals in student health services, as well as with organizations and agencies outside the school. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or equivalent education/qualifications, which is required for the position. Experience in school counseling, particularly within a school setting, is also a plus. Since you will frequently interact with students, parents, and coworkers, you must be able to easily build strong relationships. You are independent, proactive, and goal-oriented in your work, and you serve as a good role model for our children. We also place great emphasis on personal suitability and strong teamwork skills. Employment Type: Fixed-term position. Duration: 6 months or longer; start date: By agreement; end date: June 17, 2027.
