WORK TASKS The primary school in Kiruna municipality consists of 12 schools, half of which are located in the central town. Kiruna City Library consists of the city library, bookmobile and branches in Svappavaara, Vittangi and Karesuando. Your workplace is located in Kiruna City Library, where you will work in close cooperation with the school library administrator, children's and young people's librarian and the program manager for children and young people. You are responsible for building up school library activities together with the school library administrator. You conduct educational and reading promotion activities for teachers and students based on a developed collaboration agreement with activities that can take place in the library, in the classroom and also digitally. As a school librarian, you also work pedagogically with media and information literacy and general digital literacy. You thus support the school in source-critical teaching. You plan and implement book talks and teaching, and arrange author visits for different year groups. You hold annual meetings for school library representatives, and together with the school library administrator, you are responsible for all communication with teachers and principals. You are responsible for purchasing, sorting and media planning for the school library. Together with colleagues, you will introduce pupils to library use and the world of books. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for people with a university degree in library and information science. You should also have a good knowledge of literature, high digital skills and an interest in digital communication. We also look for good teaching skills, initiative and a clear commitment to working with children and young people. You have good collaboration and organizational skills. We also expect you to be fluent in Swedish with the ability to express yourself well in speech and writing. Experience as a school librarian is an advantage. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. B-driving license is a requirement. We offer: The opportunity to help build a new school library service from scratch.
