JOB DUTIES
Student assistants in Kiruna Municipality work to help, support, and encourage students who need special support for learning, development, and independence. As a student assistant, you’ll be employed centrally within the student assistant team but will work out in our schools.
The work is carried out on behalf of the principal in collaboration with the responsible teacher, based on the current curriculum, and aims to create conditions that enable students to learn, acquire new knowledge, and develop into independent individuals. The student assistant supports students throughout the school day—both in the classroom and during recess and after-school care, during meals and hygiene routines, and during other activities, depending on the student’s needs. We believe in—and expect you to work toward—giving students the opportunity to become as independent as possible given their individual circumstances.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a high school diploma from the Child and Leisure Studies program or other education that the employer deems appropriate. Previous experience working in a school setting is a plus.
It is important to us that you, as an applicant, have a genuine interest in children’s development and their desire to learn. We are looking for someone who has the ability to inspire and motivate, but who is also responsive to the students’ needs. You are empathetic, calm, and patient. Collaborating with parents and other staff is no problem at all for you, as we believe you have a solution-oriented mindset and are driven by a positive attitude. You have a strong command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. You are eager to contribute new ideas and suggestions to move the work forward.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
In accordance with the law on suitability checks, you must be able to provide an extract from the police criminal record upon hiring. Order one immediately when you submit your application; you can do so via the link https://polisen.se/belastningsregistret?mtm_campaign=utdrag&mtm_kwd=post0623
