JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The Language Center welcomes newly arrived students who are new to Sweden and provides them with a secure start to their education. During an eight-week introductory period, you will work to develop the students’ Swedish language skills, strengthen their understanding of Swedish society, and introduce them to the Swedish school system’s methods and core values. You will play a key role in the students’ first encounter with the Swedish school system and help create a solid foundation for continued learning and integration. As a teacher of Swedish as a second language, you will: · Assess and monitor the students’ language development and previous educational background. · Introduce students to the routines, working methods, and core values of the Swedish school system. · Support students in their social and linguistic integration. · Collaborate with schools, guardians, study advisors, and other professionals regarding the students’ continued education. · Contribute to the development of the Language Center’s operations. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who: · Is a certified teacher qualified to teach Swedish as a second language, or has training that the employer deems equivalent. · Have a strong understanding of language-development teaching methods. · Have an inclusive and relationship-building approach. · Are flexible, proactive, and a good team player. We place great emphasis on personal fit. · Has the ability to work with students from diverse linguistic, cultural, and educational backgrounds.
