WORK TASKS In the role of traffic planner at Kiruna municipality, you will work in a key role in the planning of traffic and infrastructure, largely in urban transformation projects but also in other assignments around the municipality. The assignment is broad and will include traffic studies, public transport planning, planning for walking and cycling, handling cases, handling referrals, etc. For us, traffic planning is an important part of urban development and therefore we work integrated with other planning functions, in all parts of the process from early stages, detailed planning to design stages. You will therefore work in different constellations and forms, which requires you to be a team player. The role of traffic planner involves both independent work and collaboration with other municipal departments, companies and external actors. You will work as a contractor as well as a client of consulting services. The work requires you to be able to express yourself easily in spoken and written Swedish, as you will be working on investigations, chairing meetings and giving presentations. It is a social job with a lot of contact with people, both internally at the municipality and externally, for example with the public and authorities. Organizationally, the traffic planners are located within the Planning Unit, which is one of three units within the Urban Planning Department. You are one of 13 employees and your closest colleagues will be traffic planners, planning architects, municipal antiquarian and GIS engineers. We are a competent and good team with good cohesion. We prefer that you have a B-driving license. QUALIFICATIONS You have a college/university education with a focus on traffic/community planning or other education that the employer considers appropriate. Experience of studies in the field of traffic, traffic planning, public transport and experience of working in a politically controlled environment would be an advantage. You should have a good knowledge of the relevant legislation. Knowledge and experience of working in GIS is an advantage. Knowledge of Kiruna and Kiruna's local conditions is also a plus. You need to be able to work well with others, be responsive, creative and proactive. Since the work involves a lot of contacts, you need to be outgoing and be able to communicate in a trustworthy way. We attach great importance to personal suitability.
