LKAB's open-pit mines are located in Svappavaara, four miles southeast of Kiruna. In these open pits, we loosen iron ore and waste rock by drilling and blasting, and then load, crush and sow the ore into a raw material for pellet production. Your role

Svappavaara's automation technicians are in charge of all electricity, instruments and control systems in Svappavaara's mining field. You will work in a team together with 4 other automation technicians where you are jointly responsible for the operation and maintenance of facilities in the entire Svappavaara mining field. This means that you will work in all our facilities, such as processing plants, open pits, outer areas, offices and dams.

Svappavaara Technology and Service (Electricity & Automation) consists of 37 employees, of which 25 are automation technicians. We have a strong community and short contact routes, which means influencing opportunities and participation in shaping and developing working methods and your working day. You will have strong support from solution-oriented colleagues and close collaboration with other professional groups.

The main tasks are:

  • Recurring maintenance of electrical equipment as well as inspections, checks, service and calibrations of measuring equipment and instruments.
  • Emergency troubleshooting and repair.
  • Installation of electrical equipment, instruments, control equipment and automation systems.
  • Optimization of control circuits and adaptation of measuring equipment to each other.
  • Less programming work in the process computer systems.

You have this with you

We are looking for someone who is used to working in a goal-oriented way where you can take a lot of personal responsibility. It requires that you work in an organized manner and with a strong focus on safety.

  • Education in electricity is a requirement
  • Driving license B is a requirement
  • You must master the Swedish language in speech and writing
  • Knowledge of process control systems, instrumentation, low-current facilities, switchgear and drive systems and installation (meritorious)
  • Authorization (meriting).
