About the processing Kiruna and quality service

Kiruna Malmföräðling's mission is to refine ore from mine to finished product. The main parts of the process are souring, enrichment and pelletizing. The department consists of a total of eight sections, of which four are part of the main process and the other four are support sections within quality, technology and process development, material processes and Water and Dams. The task of the quality service section is to deliver analyzes to other parts within LKAB. The section has approx. 70 employees spread over 6 workplaces, physical laboratory, chemical laboratory, quality control, maintenance, quality technical support and a management group with managers.


About the service

Within the Norra Malmförädling Quality Service (NMQ) section and the quality technical workplace, we are now looking for a development engineer to strengthen our team. The section works to provide analyzes on materials from mine to port.

As a development engineer, you will work with the development of mainly chemical analysis methods, but also some physical methods and sampling. You will be responsible for several steps in the development work from planning to reporting.

The work takes place in collaboration with other engineers at the workplace and with engineers from other parts of LKAB, a large part of the work is cross-functional. The service also includes participation in e.g. ISO work.

The working group includes other development engineers, laboratory engineers, quality engineers and a planning engineer.


Your qualifications

We are looking for you who have a university or college education with a suitable specialization or equivalent experience. Knowledge in chemistry, mineralogy, statistics, structure of methods and measurement uncertainty calculations are meritorious. Experience in development, laboratory and quality work is also advantageous. Some specific experiences that are meritorious are work with, for example, XRF, XRD, gas chromatography (GC) and sampling.

You are a good analyst and can easily see opportunities and solutions to the issues that may arise. You are communicative and collaborate within different work groups and move the quality work forward. You take responsibility and can lead your own projects, are flexible and work independently. You are also expected to have good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.

  • B Driving license is a requirement.
