And in the same way that we want to change the world, we want to develop everyone who is with us on the journey, personally and professionally. Do you want to help shape the future of the world's mining and mineral industry?

LKAB processing Kiruna

Kiruna Malmförädlingen's mission is to refine ore from mine to finished product. The main parts of the process are souring, enrichment and pelletizing. The department consists of a total of eight sections, of which four are part of the main process and the other four are support sections within quality, technology and process development, material processes and Water and Dams. About the service:

Now we are looking for another process engineer for the enrichment plants KA1/KA2. We are looking for a committed individual who wants to be part of our growth journey and take responsibility for the enrichment plant KA2 in Kiruna. As a process engineer with us, you will work with the process engineering development work within the NMA section.

Your main task is to ensure that the business meets its production, energy and quality goals in the long term, but also in the short term through daily process technical support in the operational organization.

In your role, you will work with process and product development with the aim of strengthening the business's quality, capacity and results . This means that you initiate and lead or participate in projects and investigations with a process engineering focus. You represent KA2 in process, energy and quality issues, externally and internally vis-à-vis R&D and the market.

In the role of Process Engineer KA2, you will collaborate with Process Engineer for KA1. We assume that you are driven, take responsibility and thrive in a role where you have several contact points and drive the development work forward in collaboration with others. To thrive as a process engineer, you must enjoy working in teams and towards common goals. The position is directly subordinate to the Section Manager for KA1/KA2.

Your qualifications:

You have university qualifications with a focus on mineral technology, chemistry and/or metallurgy. Knowledge of LKAB's ore beneficiation process and competence in automation is advantageous, but not a requirement. We would like to see that you have an interest in and/or experience from a similar business/industry/production. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

  • Passed upper secondary education or equivalent is a requirement
  • B driving license is a requirement

Commitment, Innovation and Responsibility are, regardless of the position you are applying for, important watchwords for you in your daily work. For our work group, it is important to have an inclusive climate where everyone feels welcome, and we therefore look forward to the new thoughts, ideas and approaches that you bring with you.

Just like LKAB in general, we strive for diversity and an even gender distribution within the department.

This is what you get

  • Motivation program that rewards success
  • Health care and study support as well as access to art association, leisure association, mountain cabins and family activities
  • Enhanced parental allowance with up to 90% of your regular salary for up to six months. (After employment for one year)
  • Help with support in case of illness or questions about the working environment, health, wellness and rehabilitation
  • Protective and terminal glasses and compensation for dental care
  • Opportunity to apply for scholarships for both you and your children

Why you should work with us!

We are leading the transformation of our industry towards a sustainable future. Our co-workers, a new world standard for mining, sponge iron and critical minerals will be key as we make our production carbon-free by 2045.

Global greenhouse gas emissions must be reduced significantly and within a short period of time. Tackling the climate problem will require a transformation – a significant challenge as global energy consumption is heavily linked to fossil fuels. It requires systemic changes that will take time and require a high degree of collaboration between industry and policy makers.

Based on our vision and mission, the strategy for LKAB charts the way forward towards zero carbon dioxide emissions from our own processes and products by 2045. It also secures our long-term competitiveness.
