About the business

Kiruna Malmföräðling's mission is to refine ore from mine to finished product. The main parts of the process are souring, enrichment and pelletizing. The department consists of a total of eight sections, of which four are part of the main process and the other four are support sections within quality, technology and process development, material processes and ponds and landfills. Section KA3KK4 consists of both an enrichment plant and a pellet plant. In the section there are 4 technical areas, operation, mech, electricity/automation and plant, of which operation is the largest. On a daily basis, we handle approx. 25 thousand tons of raw material that is processed into 19 thousand tons of finished pellets.

Your role

As Production Manager Operation, you will lead operation and process operators in their daily work. You will handle operational issues in consultation with directly reporting staff as well as propose and discuss issues of a tactical nature with your group manager. Your responsibility:

  • Personnel and work environment responsibility for your group. Responsibility for staffing, induction and skills development.

  • Operationally responsible for deliveries according to established goals for availability, facility utilization, quality and environment. During your shift, PC Operation monitors the production process to ensure everything is working as it should and minimize operational disruptions.

  • Holds the role of operational leader on a rolling schedule. Operational leader is the department's primary strength for handling crisis situations outside of daytime.

  • PC Operations collaborates with the Operations Manager and other PC Operations who are on duty within the department to remedy operational disruptions and carry out urgent maintenance work with Shift Maintenance.

  • Ensuring that the work environment and production complies with safety rules and regulations is an important part of the role. PC Drift is responsible for ensuring that all employees work in a safe manner and that any security risks and deviations are dealt with immediately.

  • Responsible for leading and coaching his operations team in the daily work and drive improvement work.

  • Acts as a liaison between operational teams, other departments and senior managers.
