We are now looking for a deputy first research engineer for the economics subject who wants to contribute to our research. We currently have several projects focusing on regional economic development issues. Your tasks will mainly include support to an ongoing project on food security in the region but may also include support to other projects on regional development and other research projects, as well as participating in the undergraduate training of the subject.
Project description
Research in the different subjects within the Division of Social Sciences, which includes Economics, focuses on various social science aspects of the environment and natural resources. The division conducts both intra- and interdisciplinary projects in which researchers from Economics work together with researchers in the division's other subjects, but also with other researchers within and outside the university. We also strive to have a clear international character in our research.
Duties and responsibilities
As a senior research engineer, you are expected to support the ongoing research project in food supply in the Norrbotten region through, for example, literature reviews, analyzes, work with datasets and data management, logistics around travel and workshops, work on developing research applications and project budgets, and more. It may also include participation in the subject's basic training.
Qualifications
You should have at least a bachelor's degree in economics or equivalent. You should be analytical, used to working independently and sometimes under time pressure. You should also be able to write and speak Swedish fluently.
The following would be an advantage;
- Higher degree
- Experience in energy, natural resource and environmental economics (from advanced studies as well as from research or other work)
- Given the projects that finance the position, previous experience in working with food security issues and regional development is particularly advantageous
- Good knowledge of English
- Experience of writing reports for authorities, for example
- Previous experience working as a research engineer, research assistant or similar
