The unit for jurisprudence at Luleå University of Technology is part of the department of social sciences at the department of economics, technology, art and society. In addition to jurisprudence, the department consists of the subject units political science, history and economics with a total of about 70 employees. The research in the various subjects within the department is focused on various social science aspects within the environment and natural resources area. Subject description Jurisprudence is the study of legal rules and their origin, content and application. The research at Luleå University of Technology is focused on environmental and natural resource law in the broadest sense and includes those parts of civil law, public law, international law and EU law that have significance for environmental and nature conservation and that are related to the use of and housekeeping with natural resources and energy. Project description As a teacher at the unit for jurisprudence, you are involved in carrying out our training courses. You use your competence in the subject and grounding in the profession to support the students' learning in order to reach the goals of the education. Inspiring the students to develop is stimulating and just like with other challenging tasks, you get a lot in return. It is a job with varied tasks that constantly gives you opportunities for both personal development and professional skill development. Job duties You will work with teaching with associated tasks. The teaching includes course planning and development, course responsibility, examination and supervision within the jurisprudence bachelor's program as well as on jurisprudence courses within other programmes. Teaching at master's level takes place without exception in Swedish. The basic education in jurisprudence at Luleå University of Technology includes both civil law and public law subjects, as well as jurisprudential theory and method. Qualifications Eligible to be employed as a university lecturer is someone who: • passed university degree of at least 180 university credits or equivalent • demonstrated pedagogical skill • Completion of university teaching training equivalent to 7.5 ECTS credits or otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge. It is also possible to complete the training during the employment period if this is missing. We are therefore looking for you who are prepared to teach students studying other educations than law, for example engineers, and if necessary to broaden your skills to teach in several areas of law. Documented competence in the field of environmental and natural resource law is advantageous. Documented results of educational efforts, for example course evaluations, course plans, study guides or the like. Information The position is time-limited full-time during the period 1 July 2024 to and including 15 June 2025 or as agreed and with the possibility of extension. Location is Luleå.
