The Electronics Systems Research Group at the Department of Systems and Space Engineering at Luleå University of Technology has long been established in the fields of electronics design, electrical measurement technology, and electromagnetic compatibility. We are active in education at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels, as well as in numerous external research projects. The research group is now seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated student to serve as a research assistant in research projects and teaching in these areas.
Job Responsibilities
Typical duties for this position will include performing specific tasks in research projects related to bearing currents and shaft potentials in electric machines. Teaching laboratory components in undergraduate and graduate-level courses may be included in the job responsibilities
Qualifications and Experience
You must be enrolled at LTU in the program in Engineering Physics and Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Engineering, or a related field, and have expertise in electronics and embedded systems. You must be able to express yourself both orally and in writing in Swedish and English.
Experience in the field as well as practical laboratory work is desirable.
Terms and Conditions
Employment as a teaching assistant is governed by Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance. Only individuals admitted to a program at the undergraduate or graduate level may be employed as teaching assistants (Chapter 5, Section 10 of the Higher Education Ordinance).
Hourly Wage/Compensation
For all assignments, you will receive an hourly wage as well as valuable work experience to add to your resume. Hourly wage depends on the difficulty of the task:
Level 1: 156 SEK/hour (equivalent to approximately 25,700 SEK/month for full-time work).
Level 2: 171 SEK/hour (equivalent to approximately 28,200 SEK/month for full-time work).
Level 3: Decisions regarding other salary levels are made in consultation with the supervisor in accordance with the work and decision-making procedures.
Information
Employment as an amanuensis is fixed-term from October 15, 2026, through May 31, 2027. Part-time employment of up to a maximum of 50%. The position is based in Luleå; physical presence at the workplace is required.
The workload may vary over time and as agreed, but the goal is to distribute it in a way that is compatible with studies at the university.
