The Division of Fire and Structural Engineering, part of the Department of Civil, Environmental and Natural Resources Engineering, studies loads and deformations, design, dimensioning, durability, load carrying capacity, repair and strengthening of buildings and civil engineering structures made of concrete, steel, wood and other materials, individually or in combination, under normal conditions as well as in cold climates and in case of fire.
Job description
We are currently seeking a motivated student to join our team. You will participate in the design and execution of experimental campaigns, both in laboratory and field environment, related to the assessment and evaluation of the capacity of bridges and existing structures. You will be expected to document all processes you are involved in through a written report.
Skills and experience
The candidate for this position:
- Should be enrolled in the Civil Engineering program at Luleå University of Technology.
- Have a good understanding of the behavior of reinforced concrete, both at the material and construction level.
- Have good communication skills in English, both oral and written.
- Previous experience in infrastructure projects, data collection or project management (for example through a summer job or internship) is an advantage, but not a requirement.
Terms and conditions
Employment as a lecturer is regulated in the Higher Education Ordinance, Chapter 5. Only those who have been admitted to first- or second-cycle education may be employed as a lecturer (HF Chapter 5 §10).
Hourly wage/remuneration
For all assignments, you will receive an hourly wage and valuable work experience for your CV. Hourly pay depends on the difficulty of the task:
- Level 1: 126 SEK/hour
In addition to the hourly rate, vacation pay is paid according to the Vacation Act.
Information about the position
The position comprises 25% of full-time, i.e. an average of 10 hours a week for 12 months, from 2025-01-01 to 2025-12-31 or as agreed. Place of employment is in Luleå.
The workload may vary over time and by agreement, but the aim is that it is distributed in a way that makes it compatible with studies at the university.
