The research subject Economics at Luleå University of Technology has about 20 employees and is part of the Division of Social Sciences at the Department of Business, Technology, Arts and Society. In addition to economics, the division consists of the research subjects political science, history and law. The research of the different subjects within the division focuses on various social science aspects of the environment and natural resources. Within the subject of economics, education is conducted from undergraduate to postgraduate level. As a reflection of the research profile, education at the advanced and doctoral level is mainly focused on various environmental, energy and natural resource issues. The Department of Economics is now looking for one or more undergraduate students who want to contribute to our activities as student assistants. The tasks will include participating in the subject's undergraduate education as well as supporting various ongoing research projects in the subject. Duties and responsibilities Tutors are expected to participate in the undergraduate education of the subject, mainly through group exercises, seminars and marking of assignments and exams. The tasks also include supporting ongoing research projects in the subject through, for example, literature reviews, analysis, work with datasets and data management, logistics around travel and workshops, etc. We expect that you will continue to study in parallel with the work as a lecturer and will in dialog set up work schedules that ensure that course deadlines, internship work and the like do not suffer. Qualifications You must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program and have completed at least three semesters. You should be able to demonstrate good study results in economics. You should be able to write and speak Swedish fluently. Good knowledge of English is an advantage. Previous experience of working as an amanuensis or similar is an advantage. Terms and conditions Employment as a lecturer is regulated in the Higher Education Ordinance, Chapter 5. Only those who have been admitted to first- or second-cycle education may be employed as a lecturer (HF Chapter 5 §10). Hourly wage/compensation For all assignments, you will receive an hourly wage and valuable work experience for your CV. Hourly pay depends on the difficulty of the task: Level 1: SEK 156/hour (equivalent to approximately SEK 25 700/month for full-time work). Level 2: SEK 171/hour (equivalent to approximately SEK 28 200/month for full-time work). Level 3: Decisions on other salaries are taken in consultation with the manager in accordance with the rules of procedure and decision-making. In addition to the hourly rate, vacation pay is paid in accordance with the Vacation Act. Information The work will be carried out on an as-needed basis, but the position will be a maximum of 20% of full-time, i.e. an average of one day per week for 11 months, from September 1, 2025 to July 31, 2026 or as agreed. The workload may vary over time and by agreement, but the aim is to distribute it in a way that makes it compatible with studies at the University.
