Robotics and AI at the Department of Computer Science, Electrical and Space Engineering at Luleå University of Technology is now looking for two students with experience in robotics and reinforcement learning (RL) to work in projects focusing on:
- Design of position controllers for satellites using reinforcement learning
Where the student's skills and interest should match one of these focus areas.
You will have the opportunity to work and collaborate with researchers in robotics and artificial intelligence at Luleå University of Technology in tasks that include:
- Reinforcement learning
- Multiobjective and constrained RL problem formulations
- Satellite constellation management
Work tasks
Typical tasks for this position will focus on:
- Development of algorithms and their software implementation in Python and PyTorch
- Validation of results and comparative analysis of proposed methods against baseline methods
Qualifications
To be eligible for the position, you must be enrolled as a student in a university program and have experience in applied artificial intelligence or related field, with a background in robotics. You should be interested in developing algorithms and training control policies for managing satellite constellations using reinforcement learning (RL).
As part of the job involves communicating results in English with colleagues and research partners, you must be able to express yourself well both orally and in writing in English. You will also be expected to take initiative and work independently.
Job Information
The position is for a fixed term of up to 12 months, with the possibility of extension for a further year. The position is up to 50% of full-time per month. The workload may vary over time and by agreement. The aim is to distribute the work so that it is compatible with your studies.
