The Department of Economics, Technology, Art, and Society (ETKS) offers the Bachelor’s program in Real Estate Brokerage, a well-established program that prepares students for a professional career in the real estate brokerage industry.
The position is based in the Department of Social Sciences, which currently has approximately 80 employees. As a university lecturer, you will contribute to the development of the discipline through research, collaboration, and teaching, with the majority of your teaching taking place in the Bachelor’s program in Real Estate Brokerage, focusing on real estate brokerage.
We are looking for someone with academic expertise in work science and an interest in, or experience with, the real estate brokerage industry. You want to help develop the program and contribute to educating the real estate brokers of the future.
Program Description
Work Science encompasses research on the work environment, technology and production systems, work organization, and other societal processes and environments, based on people’s circumstances and needs, with the aim of creating safe and attractive jobs and fostering socially sustainable development in the workplace, industry, and society.
Job Responsibilities
As a university lecturer, your duties will include both teaching—primarily courses related to real estate brokerage—and research, as well as related tasks. Teaching duties include course planning and development, course coordination, examination, and supervision, primarily concerning real estate brokerage within the campus-based Bachelor’s program in Real Estate Brokerage, but also within distance-learning contract education. Larger-scale program and course development may also be included. Teaching at the bachelor’s level is conducted exclusively in Swedish. Courses in the field of real estate brokerage focus on building the professional competence of future real estate brokers based on the Swedish Real Estate Brokerage Inspectorate’s requirements for registration.
The position also involves applying expertise in work science to develop research and research proposals in collaboration with other researchers in work science, as well as with other disciplines and the surrounding community. The research may advantageously focus on the real estate brokerage industry. Furthermore, the position involves actively participating in the department’s general development work regarding undergraduate education.
