Luleå University of Technology is in an expansive phase and is implementing an initiative to strengthen research and education in cybersecurity by establishing a new research group in the field. The initiative is directly related to the university's successful computer science environment with several strong research groups that offer good synergy opportunities. We therefore see a focus on research and development of methods to protect different types of systems connected to the internet as important. These systems range from small sensors to large-scale control systems for society's energy supply, and the research ranges from deep research at the methodological level, e.g. algorithm development, to applied research in collaboration with other groups.The Cybersecurity subject at the Department of Computer Science, Electrical and Space Engineering, Luleå University of Technology is now looking for an Associate Senior Lecturer to contribute to our growing activities.Topic descriptionCybersecurity focuses on technical security aspects and protection of systems connected to the internet and includes protection of software, data and hardware.TasksThe assistant professor will be involved in the university's education, especially our newly started master's program in Cybersecurity, but also courses at undergraduate and graduate level, as appropriate. In addition, pedagogical development work and research are included, primarily in postquantum protection and penetration testing, but also other sub-areas in the field of cybersecurity based on own research interests and ongoing research projects.EligibilityTo meet the requirements for employment as an Assistant Professor, the applicant must

Term of employment
This position is for a period of four years.
Testing for senior lecturer
The purpose of the employment is to give the teacher the opportunity to develop his/her independence as a researcher and to gain merit both scientifically and pedagogically in order to meet the requirements for eligibility for employment as a senior lecturer.
An associate senior lecturer shall, upon application, be promoted to senior lecturer and an employment until further notice if he/she is eligible for employment as a senior lecturer, and is assessed as suitable for such employment according to the assessment criteria stated below.
At the examination, the associate senior lecturer is required to have completed higher education pedagogical training equivalent to 7.5 credits or otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge.
During the period of employment, the associate senior lecturer must also independently, to a considerable extent and with high quality, contribute to the university's research and demonstrate good pedagogical skills.
