Description

Information Systems focuses on the design and use of information technology in relation to people, organizations and societies.

Duties

The duties relate to research and teaching in information security and information classification. The research within the position is linked to total defense in the northern space and building resilient societies under hybrid threats. Our research in this area is focused on critical (information) infrastructures for socially important activities - from the seabed to space systems - and their relation to the strategic conditions for governance, vulnerability and resilience in the High North.

Based on the unique geographic, infrastructural, economic and demographic conditions in the far north, the work is expected to contribute to knowledge development on how critical infrastructure and governance systems can be designed and coordinated to withstand hybrid threats and armed conflicts to enable a future-oriented total defense in a geographically vulnerable region. In addition to research, the project includes participation in a research academy for young researchers, in national and international networks for total defense in the north, and in a collaborative platform for societal resilience that connects academics with public and private stakeholders.

The teaching within the position is linked to our Master's programme in Information Security, and specifically to the topics of information classification, risk analysis and management, and governance and management of information security in organizations.

As an Associate Senior Lecturer, you will be responsible, together with professors and others in the subject, for the development of the subject at undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate level. You will be expected to strengthen our research and education profile and contribute to establishing the field internally both in terms of existing and future programs and as a research area on our campus in Luleå. Specifically important for this lecturer position is a close relationship and collaboration with actors in the region and the surrounding society.

The position means that you will:

  • Responsible for developing, teaching and examining courses in information security
  • Tutoring students and following the international development of the subject
  • Working on research tasks (e.g. applying for external research funding, leading and collaborating in research projects, communicating and disseminating research results through academic publications and presentations of results to different stakeholder groups and other research communication)
  • Networking and collaborating with actors in the region and in national and international contexts
  • Being active in the research community within your own subject

Accountability

Anyone who has a doctoral degree or a foreign doctoral degree that is considered equivalent to a doctoral degree is eligible for employment as an associate senior lecturer.

Primarily, those who have completed a doctoral degree no more than five years before the application deadline should be considered for employment. If there are special reasons, the doctorate may have been obtained earlier.
