You are given the space to make a real difference for your students, your research and society at large.

The Department of Systems and Space Technology (SRT) contributes to the development of the emerging field of neuromorphic technologies for next-generation intelligent systems and AI, which are developed with guidance from the structure and function of biological nervous systems for high energy efficiency, scalability, and performance. The Machine Learning (ML) group at SRT is now looking for outstanding researchers to contribute to our growing activities in the field. The ML group conducts fundamental and application-driven research in machine learning for the long-term welfare of society. To strengthen our activities, we are now recruiting an outstanding researcher in neuromorphics, with a particular focus on the following areas:

  • Modeling and optimization of physically instantiated neuromorphics
  • AI-driven codesign of neuromorphic hardware, algorithms and software
  • Sensor-oriented neuromorphic AI for high energy efficiency, fast response time and high reliability
  • Bio-inspired algorithms for efficient inference and learning

Topic description

Machine learning focuses on methods by which computer systems use data to improve their own performance, understanding and to make concrete predictions and is closely related to applications.
