About the Position
We are seeking a controller for the Operational Support Unit at the Department of Art and Technology. The department will have approximately 90 employees and just over 900 full-time students.
You will be part of an administrative unit with about 9 employees who handle financial, educational, and HR administration, led by an administrative manager. The unit serves as a shared resource for the entire department, with the aim of providing administrative support to management as well as researchers, faculty, doctoral students, and undergraduates. As a controller, you will support the department’s management in matters related to planning, steering, and follow-up. You will prepare financial decision-making materials and analyses based on the department’s needs. You will lead the finance team and oversee financial operations, and you will be responsible for coordinating work related to the budget, financial statements, forecasts, and operational monitoring. You will be responsible for further developing common procedures and working methods related to financial matters. Together with the department’s project controller, you will form the finance function and provide support to the department’s divisions and research areas.
You will be part of a network with the university’s other controllers.
Qualifications
The position requires a college-level degree in economics, preferably with a focus on financial management or accounting. You should have several years of experience in advanced financial work within this field. The position requires strong verbal and written communication skills in both Swedish and English. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability. You should be outgoing, have excellent collaboration skills, and a strong commitment to service.
You are results-oriented, analytical, have a structured approach to work, and find it easy to build good relationships with those around you. Furthermore, you must be able to work independently, drive change initiatives, and take significant responsibility for your tasks. You must be responsive to the needs and requirements of management and the organization.
Scope and Location
This is a full-time, permanent position as a controller based in Luleå. A probationary period may apply. The start date will be determined by mutual agreement.
