The Division of Computer Science at the Department of Systems and Space Engineering at Luleå University of Technology is looking for a Lecturer in Distributed Computing Systems for teaching and projects in the subject area. You will work within a driven team that conducts education in Skellefteå.
Subject description
Distributed Computing Systems encompasses computer systems and mobile networks that enable mobility, ambience, security and interactivity of computers, data, software and users.
Duties and responsibilities
The tasks will mainly consist of teaching programming and interaction technologies and building new courses in the field.
You will develop and participate in teaching. The tasks also include participation in research and development work. The applicant is also expected to actively participate in institutional work, in program and course development, and to follow developments and research developments in the subject. The position also includes responsibility for and active participation in collaboration with the surrounding community. Opportunities for further competence development and research training are available, through competence development of assistant professors.
Qualifications
Qualified to be employed as a lecturer are those who:
- You have a university degree of at least 180 credits in computer science or a related field, or other education or experience deemed equivalent by the employer. If you have a doctoral degree, this is an advantage.
- Demonstrated teaching skills
- Completed higher education pedagogical training equivalent to 7.5 credits or otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge (exceptions as below)
If the requirement for completed higher education pedagogical education is not met at the time of application or employment, it is the employer's responsibility to ensure that the requirement is met within 2 years.
Other assessment criteria:
- Experience and qualifications in teaching at the university level
- Experience of participation in research projects
- Experience in academic publishing
- Have practical experience in programming
- Have a degree in the main field of computer engineering at Master's level
Information to be provided
The position is a permanent position and can be filled on a full-time (100%) or part-time (minimum 50%) basis, depending on agreement. Location is Skellefteå. Access takes place no later than 2026-01-01, with the possibility of earlier start by agreement.
