At the Information Systems research group at Luleå University of Technology, we have a need to hire a lecturer in information systems with a focus on social complexity. The Information Systems research group is part of the Division of Digital Services and Systems, which also includes the Center for Distance-Spanning Technologies and the Center for Security in Society and Critical Infrastructures. The division consists of about 35 employees including researchers, teachers and project managers. The position as Senior Lecturer is at the Department of Systems and Space Engineering, where Luleå University of Technology has gathered research in, among other things, computer science, information systems, signals and systems, and automation. The department's turnover is approximately SEK 220 million, of which education accounts for half and external funds for research for the other half. The department has well-developed collaborations with research institutes, industrial partners, universities and other authorities in both research projects and student projects. The environment at the department is open, dynamic and brings together researchers from about twenty different nationalities as well as PhD students and students from all over the world. Subject description Information Systems focuses on the design and use of information technology in relation to people, organizations and societies. Duties and responsibilities As a lecturer in information systems, you are involved in the development of the subject at undergraduate level, together with teaching staff and others active in the subject, where you are primarily involved in the subject's courses and its pedagogical development. For a lecturer, tasks include planning and implementing teaching, supervising and examining students on our educational programs and developing the pedagogical implementation of courses and educational programs both on campus and at a distance. There may also be assignments in research and development projects. The position will include teaching and development, with a focus on systems science and service development. The position involves: - Responsible for, and teach, courses in our educational programs - Supervising students - Developing pedagogy and tools for campus and distance learning - Contribute to research, innovation and development projects in the field Qualified to be employed as a lecturer are those who: - have a university degree of at least 180 credits or equivalent - demonstrated pedagogical competence - completed a course in higher education pedagogy equivalent to 7.5 credits or acquired equivalent knowledge in another way Assessment criteria The following assessment criteria apply to the position: - Teaching skills and requirements: - experience in teaching systems science and digital service development - experience of working in research projects - be able to communicate in English and have an understanding of Swedish - Knowledge in the following areas is an advantage: - Digital transformation and social complexity - Business systems - Research methods - Service development/design Information about the position The position is a fixed-term employment on a full-time basis for 12 months, with location in Luleå.
