We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher for an applied research track in business model innovation linked to digitalization, AI and green transition. You will work in close collaboration with leading industrial partners to explore and enable new ways of creating value in a time of transition. Through your research, you will contribute to both academic frontline research and practical impact in industry.
You will be part of the research subject Entrepreneurship and Innovation, one of Sweden's leading research and teaching environments in the field. The research group collaborates with large national and international companies, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), policy makers and other research groups. Research results are produced in close collaboration with industry and other stakeholders. The research subject has a strong track record of publications in top journals, such as Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Management, Strategic Management Journal, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Product Innovation Management, MIT Sloan Management Review, California Management Review, and others.

The research topic of entrepreneurship and innovation encompasses organizational development with a particular focus on business development based on innovative products, services, production solutions or ways of managing and organizing the business.
Project description
We are now looking for a postdoctoral researcher to join our research track focusing on business model innovation stemming from digital transformation, AI and green transition. A significant part of the research is focused on addressing business needs by identifying challenges, proposing methods for improvement and facilitating the implementation of the proposed methods. The empirical project work focuses mainly on innovative supplier companies - both small and large - that develop digital and sustainable solutions for the process industry (such as steel and mining) and the manufacturing industry. Examples of such solutions include AI-based systems for optimization and decision support, electrified machines and components, and technologies for resource recovery and circular flows. These suppliers are key players in the industrial transition and are important research partners. The position also includes applying for research funding. This position is particularly relevant for those applicants who want to engage in research in close collaboration with industry.
Duties and responsibilities
As a postdoctoral fellow, your main tasks will be as follows:
Contact companies in the region and conduct research in close collaboration with them
Initiate, design and conduct data collection in collaboration with other senior researchers in the group, mainly based on case study research/qualitative method, and interactive workshops with companies
Co-authoring scientific papers with other researchers Writing research proposals
Plan and implement popular science dissemination activities (e.g. webinars, popular science articles, workshops, presentations)
Developing and teaching undergraduate courses in business administration and/or industrial economics (up to 20% of the employment time)
Qualifications
To be eligible for employment, a PhD or equivalent foreign degree in entrepreneurship and innovation or related subjects (e.g. industrial marketing) is required. You should have strong research credentials related to the research project described above. We expect you to have experience in publishing in journals at ABS level 2-4. A background in conducting applied qualitative research in close collaboration with industry is an advantage. It is an advantage if your degree was obtained no more than three years before the application deadline for this position. If there are special reasons, those who have obtained a doctorate earlier may be considered, for example in the case of various types of statutory leave.
The post requires good oral and written communication skills in English. Good knowledge of the Swedish language is an advantage.
