We are looking for people with high ambitions in research, learning and teaching for a postdoctoral position in product innovation.
The research topic of product innovation studies different aspects of innovation in the product development process, from the early idea phase to innovation in production and life cycle commitments. The subject area lies at the intersection of business development, product development and production development with product innovation in focus.
As a postdoctoral researcher, you will have good opportunities to merit yourself during two years, primarily scientifically but also pedagogically within our research subject.

Subject description
Product innovation covers theories and methods for needs- and knowledge-driven development processes where product and service development are linked.
Project description
As a postdoc, you will work in a research project focusing on metal additive manufacturing and its potential in product innovation. The project explores how this manufacturing technology can contribute to more resilient, sustainable and resource-efficient development and production processes.
By combining advanced manufacturing technologies with theories and methods for product innovation, new knowledge is developed on how companies can manage uncertainties and create value in the early stages of product and production development. The work is done in close collaboration with industrial actors and gives you as a researcher a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of future production systems.
Work tasks
The main task of a postdoctoral fellow is research. Teaching and pedagogical development work can be included in the tasks with a maximum of one fifth of the working hours. You will take part in and actively contribute to collaborations with both national and international partners as well as with research groups within and outside Luleå University of Technology. In addition, you will have the opportunity to participate in applying for external funds.
Qualifications
To be eligible for employment, a doctoral degree or equivalent foreign degree in the relevant research field is required. It is an advantage if the degree was obtained no more than three years before the closing date for applications for this post. If there are special reasons, those who have obtained a doctoral degree earlier may be considered, for example in the case of various types of statutory leave.
A track record of engagement with the community of which the University is part, as well as national and international experience and mobility are highly valued. You should be recognized as a leader among junior researchers in your field and have a proven track record of very high quality research. Good oral and written communication skills in English are a requirement, Swedish is an advantage.
Great importance is also attached to suitability. Desirable personal qualities are good collaboration skills, initiative, interest in development work and the ability and desire to make an academic career.
