We are now looking for a Senior Research Engineer in Economics to contribute to our research. We often have projects focusing on socio-economic aspects of marine and water environment issues as well as projects focusing on regional economic development issues. Project description The research at the various subjects in the Division of Social Sciences, which includes economics, focuses on various social science aspects of the environment and natural resources. The division conducts both intra- and interdisciplinary projects where researchers from economics work together with researchers in the division's other subjects, but also with other researchers within and outside the university. We also strive to have a clear international character in our research. Current research projects include a research project on developing statistical models for fly-in fly-out labor and one or more projects involving valuation studies to estimate willingness to pay for improved water environment. Duties and responsibilities As a senior research engineer, you are expected to support ongoing research projects in the subject through, for example, literature reviews, analysis, work with datasets and data management, logistics around travel and workshops, work on developing research applications and project budgets, and more. In the projects funded by the position, this will specifically include working with official statistics as well as processing mobile phone data to support the fly in fly out workforce project, and working with survey development and analysis of survey data in environmental valuation studies in the aquatic environment projects. The tasks also include participation in the subject's basic training. Qualifications You should have at least a bachelor's degree in economics or equivalent. You should be analytical, used to working independently and sometimes under time pressure. You must also be able to write and speak Swedish fluently. Merits are; - a higher degree - experience in energy, natural resource and environmental economics (from advanced studies as well as from research or other work) - experience in writing reports for authorities, for example - previous experience working as a research engineer, research assistant or similar - good knowledge of English - given the projects that fund the position, previous experience of working with statistics on fly-in fly-out workers, and/or previous experience of working with environmental valuation studies, is particularly meritorious.
