We are now looking for a Senior Research Engineer in Forensic Science to contribute to our research. Our research is mainly in the field of environmental and natural resource law and we often have projects focusing on competing land uses and sustainability, where Sami and indigenous law issues are central. Your tasks will involve supporting two research projects, both of which focus on mining settlements, reindeer husbandry and justice issues. Project description The research at the different subjects within the Division of Social Sciences, which includes Forensic Science, focuses on various social science aspects of the environment and natural resources. The division conducts both intra- and interdisciplinary projects where researchers from Forensic Science work together with researchers in the division's other subjects, but also with other researchers within and outside the university. We also strive to have a clear international character in our research. Duties and responsibilities As a Senior Research Engineer, you are expected to support the two ongoing research projects PlanIT and Scaling up. Specifically, this means assisting the project manager by, among other things, producing legal material and literature on the principle of FPIC and relevant EU law, mainly on critical metals and minerals, to support the finalization of articles in the project. There is the possibility of co-authoring articles. Administrative tasks are also included, such as liaising with Sami villages and coordinating meetings with project partners, logistics for travel, workshops and roundtables, and helping to plan and administer a final conference. Travel for participation in meetings, workshops, conferences and similar is included. Qualifications You should have a degree in law or equivalent. You should be analytical, used to working independently and sometimes under time pressure. You should have a very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. You must have a good knowledge of Sami society. The following are meritorious: - Experience in environmental and natural resource law (e.g. from advanced studies, research or other work) - Previous experience of work or contacts with Sami villages is particularly advantageous - Good knowledge of English - Experience of writing reports, consultation responses and the like for authorities or organizations - Previous experience of working as a research engineer, research assistant or similar Information to be provided The scope of the service is 30% for one year, with the possibility of extension.
