Luleå University of Technology is growing rapidly with world-leading expertise in several research areas. Our scientific and artistic research and education are conducted in close collaboration with international, national and regional companies, public actors and leading universities. Luleå University of Technology has an annual turnover of over SEK 2.3 billion. We are more than 1,800 employees and have nearly 21,600 students. At the Department of Systems and Space Engineering, Luleå University of Technology has gathered research and education in electrical engineering, space engineering, computer and systems science. The Electronics Systems group focuses on electrodynamic simulation, electronics design and measurement technology. The research and teaching activities are supported by high quality infrastructure with laboratories for electromagnetic compatibility, microelectronics and photoacoustics. We are now looking for a researcher to contribute to our growing activities in the field of electromagnetic computation. The research is mainly focused on the development of computational methods for time-varying materials. That is, materials whose physical properties can change with time to achieve the desired control of electromagnetic fields.
Subject description
Electronic systems covers electronics design, measurement techniques and electromagnetic compatibility for the control, monitoring and instrumentation of technological processes and systems, with close and broad links to applications and applied research.
Project description
The research is mainly focused on the development of computational methods for time-varying materials. We conduct the majority of our research based on equivalent circuit methodology, and so also within this project. In addition to method development, there is the possibility of developing possible applications where time-varying materials can be utilized.
Work tasks
As a researcher, you will collaborate with other researchers within and outside the university. You will participate in theory development and implementation of computational algorithms.
Qualifications
To be eligible for employment as a researcher, a doctoral degree in electrical engineering or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a doctoral degree is required.
We are looking for you with a passion for electrodynamics, computational techniques and programming. You should have a very good theoretical understanding of electromagnetic calculations, equivalent circuit methodology and implementation of computational algorithms. You should have good experience of international work in the field of electrodynamic calculations.
