We are now looking for a safety and fire coordinator for our property and service department - a role for you who want to develop and coordinate the work with physical security and fire protection at the university, where you contribute to a safe, sustainable and safe university environment for students, employees and visitors.

About the role
As a Security and Fire Coordinator, you will play a central role in strengthening the physical security and fire protection of the University. The emphasis is on the security area, where you are responsible for managing, setting requirements and developing the university's security systems, procedures and working methods. You will work both strategically, by developing governance and processes, and operationally, through advice, incident management and training.
You will work closely with the Head of Security, facilities planners and other support functions, as well as with external stakeholders such as the emergency services, police and security providers.
Examples of tasks
- Managing and developing the university's locking, alarm and access control systems (e.g. ASSA Clic, ARX and access cards).
- Acting as a specifier and purchaser in the procurement of surveillance, security systems and fire protection solutions.
- Leading and organizing fire safety rounds, training and fire drills
- Coordinating and ordering technical security measures in construction and premises projects
- Providing advice and support on physical technical security, access management and personal security
- Developing security procedures, policy documents and training materials
- Monitoring and analyzing security incidents and contributing to continuous improvement
Qualifications
Requirements
- Relevant university degree in security, risk management, fire, civil protection or equivalent skills that we consider equivalent.
- Several years of experience in security work in a large organization, preferably in the public sector or academic environment.
- Good knowledge of physical security, including locking, alarm, access and surveillance systems.
- Experience in systematic fire protection (SBA).
- Ability to work both strategically and operationally and lead development work in security and fire protection.
- Good communication skills in Swedish and English, both oral and written.
Meritorious
- Advanced training in security protection, physical security, crisis and continuity management or systematic fire protection work.
- Experience in the procurement and specification of security systems.
- Knowledge of structural fire protection and fire engineering installations.
- Experience of working with authorities such as the Police, MSB or Emergency Services.
Personal qualities
You are analytical, structured and communicative with the ability to build trust and collaborate widely. You have integrity, good judgment and a genuine interest in safety and fire protection issues. You thrive on driving development, creating order and clarity and seeing the big picture in complex environments. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.
Scope and location
The position is a permanent full-time position based in Luleå. Probationary period may be applied. Access takes place according to agreement.
This position may be placed in a security class in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585).
