The University is investing heavily in sustainable industrial production through several new European and national initiatives. We are now looking for one or two senior lecturers to join our research group in cyber-physical systems.

Description

 

Cyberphysical Systems focuses on integrated software and application architectures with implementations of highly distributed embedded systems that interact with each other and their environment to enable secure, goal-driven, autonomous and evolvable solutions.

 

Duties

 

A Senior Lecturer will be involved in teaching, educational development and research at the University. Senior lecturers should also follow international developments in the subject area and supervise doctoral students. Senior lecturers are expected to contribute to the development of the university, work to obtain external funding for the subject and be able to take on management and administrative tasks.

 

The duties also include leading research projects, communicating research results through scientific publications and being active in the scientific community within their own subject area.

 

Senior lecturers are also expected to collaborate with other researchers and with industrial partners. The position provides the opportunity to develop independence as a researcher and to qualify for future teaching positions with higher qualification requirements.

 

Eligibility

 

Eligible for employment as a senior lecturer is someone who:

  • Has a doctoral degree or equivalent scientific competence or has some other professional skill that is of importance with regard to the position
  • Has demonstrated pedagogical skills through reflective experience, teaching skills and teaching development.
  • Completed higher education pedagogical training equivalent to 7.5 credits or otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge

The following assessment criteria are applied to the position:

  • Scientific skills
  • Pedagogical skills

Other assessment criteria (equally weighted):

  • Ability to interact with the surrounding society, demonstrated by participation in research and collaboration projects with industrial partners in Sweden and Europe.
  • Administrative and organizational skills relevant to the tasks, demonstrated through the management of work packages in Swedish and European projects and through the coordination of project deliveries.
  • Ability to teach in Swedish and/or English, demonstrated through experience of teaching at bachelor's and/or master's level in computer science and engineering.
  • Scientific competence in one or more of the following areas (demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications or preprints):
    • Applied machine learning (ML) for industrial environments, such as semi-autonomous robots, and development of simulation or test environments for training ML models.
    • Cyber-physical systems (CPS) focusing on distributed coordination, state synchronization and safety-critical operation.
    • Industrial data ecosystems focusing on scalable data architectures, semantic interoperability and governance mechanisms for secure data sharing.
    • Security in cloud-native systems with a focus on access control.

The position is for one to two positions, is permanent and located in Luleå. Access according to agreement.
