The Department of Health, Learning and Technology (HLT) is an academic meeting place where scientific perspectives on knowledge about learning and health are brought together. The department offers degree programs at bachelor's, master's and master's level and in several subjects also education at doctoral level leading to a doctoral degree. HLT offers many programs and courses in the humanities and natural sciences. The Department of Education, Language and Subject Didactics (PSÄ) has extensive activities with research, development and teaching in undergraduate education, contract education and independent courses linked to teacher education, preschool and school. We intend to strengthen the subject competence in the field of pedagogy and are now looking for a senior lecturer with competence mainly in early childhood education. Subject description Pedagogy encompasses learning, education, teaching, training and other processes of influence in formal and non-formal contexts. There is a particular focus on relationships, participation, collaboration, communication, the teaching profession, digital technology, and governance and management. Education has three specializations: general education, special education and early childhood education. Research within the specializations is based on their specific target groups, and in relation to conditions, content, actors and contexts in pedagogy. Work tasks The tasks mainly include teaching, course development, supervision and examination at both basic and advanced levels, with emphasis on the preschool teacher program and its various subject areas. Teaching in the basic teacher and subject teacher programs and in the department's other course offerings and commissioned education is also included in the service. Teaching is mainly conducted in Swedish. As a senior lecturer, you are also expected to contribute to development work in pedagogy, research and administration. This means, for example, that you are expected to participate in committees, working groups and other collegial contexts. Eligibility Qualified to be employed as a senior lecturer are those who: - A doctoral degree or equivalent scientific competence or other professional competence relevant to the position - Demonstrated pedagogical competence through reflective experience, teaching skills and teaching development. - Completed higher education pedagogical training equivalent to 7.5 credits or otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge Assessment criteria The following assessment criteria apply to the position: - Scientific excellence - Teaching skills - Other assessment criteria Other assessment criteria: - ability to interact with the surrounding society, for example through practice-oriented research and development work - ability to teach in Swedish and English - experience of contract education - experience of teaching distance learning - meritorious is also documented education in areas such as natural sciences and social studies - experience of teaching and a Swedish teaching license focusing on preschool and other school activities is an advantage - ability to obtain external research and development funding - ability to inform about research and development work - administrative skills that are relevant to the subject content and the tasks involved in the position In this recruitment process, the university will primarily consider the person who, based on an overall qualitative assessment of competence and skills, is judged to have the best prerequisites to perform and further develop the tasks and promote the positive development of the organization.
