The research subject Process Metallurgy is part of the Division of Mineral Processing and Metallurgy at the Department of Civil, Environmental and Natural Resources Engineering. The subject currently has a strong profile in process metallurgy where a rapidly developing area is the combination of pyro- and hydrometallurgical processes for the extraction and recovery of minerals and metals, especially with a focus on CRM. We therefore see a need to expand the research group with a senior lecturer who contributes to strengthening our academic programs and research initiatives. Subject description Process metallurgy covers the sustainable extraction of metals from primary and secondary raw materials based on both pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical methods. Duties and responsibilities In your role as Senior Lecturer you will mainly work with research and teaching. You are expected to contribute to the supervision and co-supervision of master students and PhD students as well as applications for funding of research projects. Eligibility Qualified to be employed as senior lecturer are those who: - A doctoral degree or equivalent scientific competence or other professional competence relevant to the position - Demonstrated pedagogical competence through reflective experience, teaching skills and teaching development. - Completed higher education pedagogical training equivalent to 7.5 credits or otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge Assessment criteria The following assessment criteria apply to the position: - Scientific excellence - Teaching skills - Other assessment criteria Other assessment criteria (weighted equally): - the degree of competence required for admission - a PhD in process metallurgy or mineral engineering and hydrometallurgy - demonstrate the ability to obtain research funding from Swedish funding agencies - experience of research work in the field of CRM - demonstrate practical experience of laboratory work and experience of analytical instruments such as AAS, XRF, ICP-OES, SEM-EDS, BET. - technical knowledge of leaching, liquid extraction, electrolysis, ion exchange, precipitation - ability to interact with the surrounding community - documented experience of teaching at university level and of being an examiner - ability to communicate research and development work - experience with software for equilibrium calculations Information to be provided The position is permanent and located in Luleå.
