Luleå University of Technology has a total turnover of almost SEK 2.1 billion per year. We are currently 1,900 employees and have 18,700 students.
In the coming years, billions of kronor will be invested in Norrbotten and Västerbotten in major projects aimed at a more sustainable society nationally as well as globally. Luleå University of Technology is involved in several of these highly topical research projects and the social transformation that follows. We have a wide range of programs to match the skills that are in demand. We hope you will join us in building the sustainable businesses and societies of the future.
Join us and explore the frontiers of battery materials, processing, cell manufacturing and digitized production - and help build a resilient and sustainable battery future. RECAT at Luleå University of Technology is driving the next generation of sustainable battery innovation. The centre brings together materials science, active materials processing, manufacturing and digitalization to accelerate Europe's green transition. We are developing smarter and more sustainable battery production through advanced diagnostics, AI-enhanced modeling and digital twins that link materials, processes and performance.
We are looking for you who are at the beginning of your academic career for a position as senior lecturer. The focus is on metal extraction with an emphasis on electrochemistry in hydrometallurgical processes and production of high purity materials. We are looking for you who are motivated, want to develop in the field and actively contribute to the progress of our research group.
The research subject Process Metallurgy conducts research and teaching covering both hydrometallurgy and pyrometallurgy, with a focus on sustainable production of metals and raw materials from primary and secondary resources. Current activities within the subject are focused on the green transition and how it relates to the minerals and metals value chain - an area of great importance for Sweden, especially for the northern parts of the country. This involves many research subjects at the university, research institutes and industrial partners. The research projects have a strong profile in experimental studies using our own advanced laboratory equipment and cutting-edge analytical techniques for elemental and mineral characterization, thermodynamic modelling and field studies - all in collaboration with internal and external partners nationally and internationally.
Subject description
Process metallurgy covers the sustainable extraction of metals from primary and secondary raw materials based on both pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical methods.
