The service Luleå University of Technology and the department of engineering science and mathematics are now looking for up to 14 students who can work as amanuens/support for the new students in the bridging course in mathematics, the so-called math plug. Job duties As an amanuens, you will prepare and carry out arithmetic exercises, where you calculate through examples, and answer the students' questions. The set-up and implementation of arithmetic workshops takes place together with course-responsible lecturers from the department of mathematics. Competence and experience You who apply must be a student on a civil engineering program at LTU and have good grades in the basic courses in mathematics (Mathematics 1‑3). You should have an interest in communicating and discussing mathematics. High grades and additional completed course credits in mathematics are meritorious. Experience in teaching or other leadership experience is also an advantage. Terms Employment as amanuens is regulated in the Higher Education Ordinance ch. 5. Only those who have been admitted to education at basic level or advanced level may be employed as amanuens (HF ch. 5 §10). Information The position is full-time during the period 22–30 August 2024. It includes both teaching and preparation time. You get an hourly wage. In addition to hourly compensation, holiday compensation is paid in accordance with the Holidays Act.
