We have more than 1,800 employees and nearly 21,600 students.Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (RAI) at the Department of Computer Science, Electrical and Space Engineering at Luleå University of Technology is now looking for a student with experience in multi-sensor fusion, to work as an assistant professor in a project related to autonomous navigation of unknown, unstructured and complex areas with disturbances in the form of environmental factors. RAI's vision is to close the gap between theory and reality, and the team has a strong background in field robotics.
You will have the opportunity to collaborate with researchers from the RAI team who are conducting fundamental and principled research in all aspects of robotics with a specific focus on:
- VLM-based perception and mapping for humanoids.
- MPC-based reactive navigation for humanoids.
- Voice-based human-robot interaction.
Work tasks
Typical tasks for this position will focus on:
- Development of algorithms and their software implementation for ROS in C++, Python and MATLAB.
- Experimental demonstration of the results of the research efforts.
Qualifications
To be eligible for the position, you must be enrolled as a student in a university program in applied artificial intelligence or related field and have a background in robotics. You need to be interested in developing navigation algorithms for autonomous vehicles in unstructured complex areas with environmental disturbances. You must also have programming experience with Python, C++ and MATLAB with a focus on computer vision.
As part of the tasks is to communicate the results in English with colleagues and research partners, you must be able to express yourself both orally and in writing in English. You will also need to be able to take initiative and work independently.
Terms and conditions
Employment as a lecturer is regulated in the Higher Education Ordinance, Chapter 5. Only those who have been admitted to first- or second-cycle education may be employed as a lecturer (HF Chapter 5 §10).
Hourly wage/compensation
For all assignments, you will receive an hourly wage and valuable work experience for your CV. Hourly pay depends on the difficulty of the task:
Level 1: SEK 156/hour (equivalent to approximately SEK 25 700/month for full-time work).
Level 2: SEK 171/hour (equivalent to approximately SEK 28 200/month for full-time work).
Information about the position
Employment as an amanuensis is limited to 12 months and covers up to 50% of full-time work per month. The workload may vary over time and by agreement. The aim is to distribute the work so that it is compatible with your studies. Start as soon as possible or as agreed. Location Luleå.
