Duties and tasks
The tasks are varied and provide insight into the academic world. You will have regular contact with the teachers responsible for the course. Examples of tasks:
- Teaching support in undergraduate courses (supervision of labs and exercises)
- Grading of reports, assignments and labs
- Course administration incl. reporting of correction documents
- Work in the Canvas learning platform
- Leading application exercises and discussions on study techniques
- Coaching students for group work
- Develop and produce course material when needed
Skills and experience
We are looking for you who are admitted to undergraduate or graduate education at LTU, preferably within the department's program. Good subject knowledge is required, and it is meritorious if you have read the course you will teach. You must be able to express yourself both orally and in writing in Swedish and English. Pedagogical ability and genuine interest in teaching are important and experience of similar work is an advantage. We make an overall assessment with great emphasis on personal suitability.
Terms and conditions
The employment is regulated according to the Higher Education Ordinance (HF Chapter 5 §10). You must be an active student throughout the employment period. The employment may correspond to a maximum of 50% of full-time. Employment may be for a maximum of one year at a time, but no more than three years in total.
Hourly salary/remuneration
Remuneration for teaching assistants is based on the student's academic record:
Level 1 (<180 credits): SEK 156/hour (approx. SEK 25 700/month for full-time work).
Level 2 (≥180 credits): 171 SEK/hour (approx. 28 200 SEK/month for full-time work).
Information on workload
The workload may vary over time and by agreement, but the aim is to distribute it in a way that makes it compatible with studies at the university.
The term of the position covers study period 4, VT26 (March to June) with the possibility of extension.
The scope of the position is planned in agreement with the student in question based on interest and availability as stated in the application. The current scope in hours is distributed over a three-month period to a percentage employment scope.
The position is placed at the research subject where most of the scope of the position is located.
