The Control Engineering Group at the Department of Systems and Space Engineering at Luleå University of Technology has long been established in the fields of control, monitoring, and optimization of complex dynamic systems across a wide range of industries, such as energy, automotive, data centers, mining, and more. Together with an international consortium, the group has recently received funding from Vinnova for the Collins project, which focuses on developing the next generation of cooling systems for liquid-cooled data centers.
Job Responsibilities
The job responsibilities will include developing models and digital twins of the cooling equipment in liquid-cooled data centers, as well as algorithms for optimal control and monitoring of these systems. Furthermore, the work will include literature reviews in this field, testing of the algorithms, and documentation of the results in technical reports and, potentially, in scientific publications, as well as project administration such as reporting and participation in project meetings with partners from the aforementioned Collins project consortium. Significant parts of the work may also serve as the basis for a thesis in control engineering.
Tasks related to undergraduate education, such as grading lab reports, may also be included.
Qualifications and Experience
You must be enrolled in a Master of Science in Engineering program at Luleå University of Technology and have a documented track record of strong academic performance in the field of control engineering. Key qualities include strong analytical skills and the ability to express yourself clearly both verbally and in writing, in both English and Swedish.
