The Department of Civil, Environmental and Natural Resources Engineering at Luleå University of Technology conducts research and education in the mining, construction and environmental fields. The research and education at the department has a strong experimental and applied profile with several large and well-equipped laboratories. The activities are quality assured by our dedicated professors and lecturers in an exclusive and successful collaboration with industry and the public sector. 70% of our research is externally funded and we have a well-developed international collaboration with universities on all continents. We are about 400 people with about 50 nationalities, including 180 PhD students and more than 50 professors.
The Division of Mining and Rock Engineering at Luleå University of Technology has a broad focus area and includes research activities on basic knowledge for applied applications in mining and underground engineering. The education and research in Mining and Rock Engineering at Luleå University of Technology dates back to 1971. In 2011, the Swebrec competence center, which focuses on blasting technology, detonation and fragmentation, became part of the subject of rock engineering.
Arbetsuppgifter
You as an amanuens will belong to the division of mining and rock engineering. You will mainly work together with Wilhelm Åberg in a research project investigating grouting. The tasks mainly consist of attending laboratory sessions on grouting and independently performing light lab tests. Subsequent work is to collect and compile data and minor analyses.
Qualifications
The student we are looking for should be enrolled in the civil engineering program and have studied at least 8 semesters. You should have knowledge in rock mechanics, infrastructure construction and design knowledge. Knowledge of statistical methods, project work in research projects and scientific methods is an advantage. Good knowledge of both written and spoken Swedish is a requirement as the project work is carried out within the framework of the Swedish Transport Administration. Upon request, the applicant must be able to provide contact information for two reference persons.
Conditions
Employment as a lecturer is regulated in the Higher Education Ordinance, Chapter 5. Only those who have been admitted to first- or second-cycle education may be employed as a lecturer (HF Chapter 5 §10).

The remuneration is based on an agreed monthly salary

The position covers 50% of full-time, ie. on average 2.5 days per week for 4 months, from September 1, 2026 to December 1, 2026, or as agreed. The place of employment is Luleå
The workload may vary over time and by agreement but the aim is that it is distributed in a way that makes it compatible with studies at LTU.
