The department of health, learning and technology, HLT, is an academic meeting place where scientific perspectives on knowledge about learning and health are brought together. The department offers degree programs at bachelor's, master's and master's level and, in several subjects, also training at postgraduate level leading to a doctoral degree. At HLT, there are many programs and courses in the humanities and natural sciences.
We intend to strengthen subject competence in the area of the Spanish language and are now looking for a university lecturer with competence in the Spanish language, Spanish literature and language didactics.
The employment mainly includes teaching the Spanish language in courses given within the framework of various programs. The position also involves supervision of independent work and examinations of business-based training in teaching programs. The position also includes developing subject didactic research of relevance for teacher training in language didactics. The employment also includes course development, administration and participation in the department's and faculty's work.
In the role of university lecturer in Spanish, you will mainly work with teaching in independent courses and teacher training.
Furthermore, collaboration with the surrounding society is an important part of the work tasks and following the subject's international development. You are expected to participate in/show interest in management and administrative tasks.
Eligible to be employed as a lecturer is someone who has completed a doctorate or has the equivalent scientific competence.
Eligibility for this position requires recently completed or ongoing research in the field of English with a didactic orientation. In addition, higher education pedagogic education 7.5 ECTS credits, or other equivalent competence, outstanding teaching credentials, collaborative skills and administrative skills are required. The pedagogical skill refers to both planning, implementation and evaluation of teaching, as well as supervision and examination.

Regarding the assessment bases for scientific and pedagogical skill, special emphasis is placed on, in order of priority:
• Experience of research and teaching in the subject area
• Experience of teaching at school in a relevant subject (preferably Spanish and language didactics in modern languages)
• Experience of research and development projects and collaboration with the surrounding community
Other assessment grounds (weighted equally):
• administrative skills that are important with regard to the content of the subject and the tasks included in the employment
• ability to cooperate with the surrounding society
• ability to obtain external research and development funds
• ability to inform about research and development work
• be able to teach in Swedish, Spanish and/or English
• teacher's license or teacher's degree, preferably with a focus on upper secondary school level or other equivalent knowledge and experience.
Applicants must have documented teaching experience with a clear connection and relevance to independent courses in Spanish and teacher training in language didactics. You have teaching experience from the higher education sector and the ability to teach within the linguistic parts of the English subject, and if you also have teaching experience in Spanish in both primary and subject teacher training, we see it as meritorious. Likewise, it is advantageous if you have experience of supervising and examining students in business-based education and in degree work. It is also advantageous if you have experience in course and program development within the higher education sector.
We would like you to have research and educational experience from university in literature, language didactics and teacher training. Furthermore, we also see it as meritorious if you have competence and experience in the development of language didactics in teacher education. It is also meritorious with participation in the national and international research community, through, for example, conferences and collaborations. The position requires good ability to use digital teaching tools, digital research tools and digital administrative systems.
The position is a permanent employment at 20% and with location Luleå. Access as soon as possible, by agreement. Probationary employment may be applied.
