At Nammo Raufoss, you get to work with cutting-edge technology in one of the world's leading environments for propulsion and analysis - from concept to qualified product.
Who are we?
Nammo is a global leader in specialty munitions and rocket engines, with aerospace and ramjet technology in the portfolio. At Raufoss, our largest production and development center, around 230 engineers work with advanced fluid and material technology, complex design solutions and modern production methods. Our analysis department counts 40 specialists who provide peace of mind through precise calculations - we exist to ensure our products deliver when it matters most.
Why will you thrive in this role?
You'll have a meaningful job where your analyses directly impact the success of critical missions - from internal ballistics to thermal loads in high-speed flight. Empowerment comes from owning your discipline in project teams, with support from experienced colleagues and access to state-of-the-art test facilities. You control your everyday life with the freedom to define analyses, test hypotheses and influence design choices in a dynamic growth environment.
Duties:
Be the responsible engineer in your field (ballistics/thermal/CFD) with follow-up from concept to testing.
Define, perform and validate analyses with tools such as COMSOL, Python, Matlab, PRODAS, EcosimPro or ESATAN.
Design solid rocket motors based on fuel properties, nozzle technology and ramjet solutions.
Develop materials and insulation systems that can withstand extreme thermal loads.
Communicate results to project teams, production and customers.
Contribute to holistic understanding of technology, processes and production.
We are looking for you who have:
MSc or PhD in propulsion, aerospace engineering, thermodynamics, physics, mechanics, trajectory calculation, applied mathematics or similar.
Experience with numerical analysis and simulations (COMSOL, Matlab/Python, PRODAS or equivalent is an advantage)
Interest in rocket engine technology, regardless of previous industrial experience.
Good ability to learn new tools and methods quickly.
You will thrive with us if you are:
Initiative and responsible, with the drive to take projects to the finish line independently.
Analytical and systematic, but also creative in finding solutions to complex challenges.
Good at collaboration and communication - you thrive on sharing knowledge in interdisciplinary teams.
Willing to learn, curious and identify with our values: commitment, precision and consideration.
This is what we can offer you:
Good career opportunities in a growing company.
A solid and secure workplace with competitive conditions.
Flexible working hours.
Good arrangements for pension savings, salary and parental leave.
Health insurance.
Company sports teams and social events.
Possibility to rent company cabins through the industrial park.
Free during Easter and Christmas in exchange for working 12 minutes every day.
Are you ready to join our team?
We want to get in touch with you as soon as possible, so interviews will take place on an ongoing basis. Please emphasize in your application what field you are interested in. Please apply before 28.02.2026. We look forward to hearing from you!
