Who are we?

Nammo test center conducts various development, production and delivery tests on our products. Furthermore, we conduct control tests of ammunition that the Armed Forces or other customers have in stock. Nammo's test center is located at Bradalsmyra, just outside Raufoss, and consists of approximately 50 skilled employees. These perform and document a number of tests in environmental simulation, ammunition and propulsion systems / rocket engines.

Operator environmental testing

As an operator in environmental testing at the Nammo test center, you will be involved in exposing our products to external influences. You will be involved in simulating impacts that can occur in all types of military transportation, storage and reloading. Most of the products tested contain energetic material and we have suitable facilities to handle this in a safe way. The job consists of everything from mechanically screwing together a test fixture to monitoring a complex environmental simulation on a PC screen.

Responsibilities and tasks:

  • Preparation for environmental simulations, including familiarizing yourself with requisitions and other test documentation. Finding the right test equipment and helping to keep everything in order.

  • Assisting in the implementation of environmental tests (temperature, vibration, shock, drop, low pressure, salt mist and other).

  • Performing follow-up work, including reporting and clean-up.

  • Assisting with instrumentation and calibration.

  • Contribute to the development of environmental testing at the test center, including participating in investigations and projects.

  • Participate in the planning and implementation of maintenance of test equipment.

  • Continuous support of the department's improvement work (Lean).

  • Other tasks within departments.


Qualifications:

  • Relevant education (electrical, mechanical etc.Relevant education (electrical, mechanical, etc.) or relevant vocational school, trade certificate or similar.

  • Good language skills, oral and written, in Norwegian and English.

  • Good technical understanding and interest in new IT systems.

  • Good understanding of both hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems.

  • Interest and system understanding of measurement chains and signal processing.

  • Preferably with relevant knowledge of ammunition and/or rocket engines.

  • Preferably with some knowledge of environmental simulation.
