Nammo is continuously working to improve its digital solutions to meet the ever-increasing demands of our growing group. In this context, we are looking for a Data Engineer who is passionate about connecting technology and operational data, and who wants to help develop data models and dashboards that provide real value in the everyday lives of operations personnel.

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for organizing and structuring operational data for analysis and decision support by modeling data from OT sources (e.g. SCADA, PLC, sensors). You will develop and maintain relevant dashboards for operational users by designing visualizations, ensuring that the dashboards are user-friendly, responsive and relevant for daily decisions. In this position, you will work close to the process, close to the user and close to the decisions that matter.

Key tasks

• Model data in formats that support analysis and dashboard visualization.

• Validate and transform raw data into optimal datasets.

• Develop dashboards and visualizations adapted to operational needs.

• Update data models and dashboards in case of changes in process or needs.

• Monitor the performance of the solutions and improve if necessary.

• Collaborate closely with both IT and OT to ensure solutions are technically feasible and business relevant.

• Translate complex data into insights that provide value to end users.

Desired skills and experience

Operational technology (OT) and process environments:

• Knowledge of SCADA, PLC, sensor data and real-time data flow.

• Understanding of how operational systems work and communicate with digital systems.

Data modeling and data integration:

• Ability to structure and model data useful for operational needs.

• Experience with scripting in SQL and Python.

• Knowledge of Cognite Data Fusion, OPC UA, REST APIs or other OT data sources.

Dashboard and visualization tools:

• Experience with tools such as Grafana, Tableau, or equivalent.

• Ability to create intuitive, user-friendly and interactive dashboards.

Collaboration and communication:

• Ability to understand the needs of our operational users (technicians, operations staff).

• Show initiative and be a good team player.

• Able to adapt and handle changes in work tasks.

We are looking for candidates with a college or vocational school education in IT, or equivalent experience. It is an advantage if you have experience of working with operational data and have good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
