The Legal Department at Nammo Raufoss AS currently consists of three attorneys and is looking to add one more attorney or associate. The department is characterized by a high level of expertise and a positive work environment. We are looking for someone to meet the department’s growing capacity needs, and we encourage both experienced and less experienced candidates to apply, as the job duties and responsibilities can be tailored to each individual’s profile. The position reports to the General Counsel at Nammo Raufoss AS.

Knowledge of the company’s operations, strategy, and regulatory landscape is essential for providing sound and constructive advice on a wide range of legal issues. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain this knowledge and help Nammo Raufoss succeed in its social mission.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates a high degree of independence, a clear understanding of their role, and the ability to structure and prioritize their own work. Success in this role also requires the ability to facilitate internal information flow and flexibility within the department. 

Some travel is to be expected.

Responsibilities and duties:

The Legal Department’s duties vary depending on the company’s needs. Typical tasks assigned to the department include:

  • Providing legal assistance to Nammo Raufoss’s departments and business units, as well as legal assistance to Nammo AS (the Group).

  • Identifying risks in contracts and proposing corrective measures

  • Assistance in planning and conducting negotiations, particularly contract negotiations with customers and suppliers

  • Competitive bidding for legal services and oversight of external counsel

  • Training and instruction for other internal departments

  • Assistance with the development/updating of processes/business management

  • Impact assessment of proposed/adopted regulations and legal policy work

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in law (Cand. Jur. or a master’s degree in law (must be eligible for admission as an associate attorney if not already licensed to practice law).

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience

  • Good command of English

The following will be considered a plus:

  • Experience as an attorney or associate

  • Experience drafting and negotiating international contracts

  • Experience with the protection and licensing of intellectual property rights

  • Negotiation skills and experience

  • Experience in other areas of law relevant to the business, such as intellectual property law, export controls, or collective labor law.
