At the same time, this growth places increased demands on the company’s IT operations. Capacity, availability, IT security, and robust technical solutions are crucial for supporting both current operations and the continued development of Nammo Raufoss.

To further develop its IT department, Nammo Raufoss AS is now seeking an experienced and decisive IT Director. The role will have overall responsibility for leading and developing the IT function at Nammo Raufoss and will be central to ensuring robust, secure, standardized, and efficient IT delivery that supports the company’s continued growth. 

About the role

The IT Director has overall responsibility for the local IT function at Nammo Raufoss. This is a clearly operational leadership role with responsibility for IT operations, and the role is intended to ensure a robust, secure, standardized, and cost-effective IT delivery with high availability and strong local IT user support. 

The role involves personnel and managerial responsibility for an organization of approximately 15–20 employees within IT operations, infrastructure, applications, and IT security. The IT Director is responsible for local IT infrastructure, applications, and IT services within the scope of the role and must ensure the necessary capacity, scalability, and delivery capabilities in line with the organization’s growth. 

IT security is a key priority, and the role is responsible for ensuring the proper handling of both unclassified and classified information, as well as compliance with relevant security and regulatory requirements. The IT Director will also play a key role in further developing the division of responsibilities and interfaces between Nammo Raufoss, Group IT, Digitalization, and other relevant corporate functions. 

The IT Director reports to the CEO of Nammo Raufoss AS, with technical reporting to the Vice President of IT at Nammo AS. Work location: Raufoss

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Be responsible for planning, budgeting, and cost monitoring within the area of responsibility

  • Lead and further develop the IT organization at Nammo Raufoss

  • Ensure the establishment, operation, maintenance, and further development of local IT infrastructure and IT services

  • Ensure stable and efficient IT operations, high availability, and good local IT user support

  • Ensure the necessary capacity and scalability in the IT organization and infrastructure to support the company’s continued growth

  • Maintain local IT and information security in accordance with corporate requirements, regulatory requirements, and relevant security standards

  • Ensure the proper handling of both unclassified and classified information

  • Manage and further develop local applications and systems within the role’s area of responsibility

  • Establish sound work processes, standards, and governance mechanisms, and follow up on risks, incidents, nonconformities, and improvement measures

  • Ensure clear lines of responsibility and effective interfaces between Nammo Raufoss, Group IT,

  • Digitalization, and other relevant corporate functions

Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for an experienced leader who combines a strong understanding of technology with the ability to lead people, organizations, and change. You do not need to be the foremost specialist in every single IT field, but you must have sufficient technical understanding to assess complex issues, challenge the technical teams, set the right priorities, and make sound decisions. 

The position requires that the candidate be eligible for security clearance in accordance with applicable requirements and the Security Act.

We would like you to have:

  • relevant higher education in IT, computer science, technology, or a related field

  • solid leadership experience from IT operations, infrastructure, or similar operational IT environments

  • experience with direct personnel responsibility and leadership of technical teams

  • a strong understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, architecture, and IT security

  • Experience from organizations where requirements for security, availability, robustness, and compliance are central

  • Experience with change, growth, and development of IT organizations and services

  • Experience working at the interface between local and central IT functions

  • Strong communication skills in Norwegian and English
