
The Ammunition R&D department is expanding its technical team and seeks to strengthen its capabilities in the field of systems engineering. The systems engineer, together with the product manager or project manager, assumes technical responsibility for the product and ensures that it meets the specifications. The systems engineer must have strong overall product expertise and experience, and serve as a liaison for the technical resources in a project.
We are looking for candidates with existing knowledge of ammunition products, as well as candidates who are interested in developing their skills and learning more about these products. The right candidate will be given technical product responsibility and technology responsibility within the product portfolio, covering both existing products and new developments.
The position will be part of R&D Ammunition Technology and will focus on products for military applications.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
A systems engineer must understand customer needs and is responsible for ensuring that the product meets the requirements of the customer and all stakeholders.
The systems engineer is responsible for ensuring this is achieved through quality-assured and systematic methods, in a cost- and time-efficient manner, and throughout the product’s entire lifecycle.
Examples of responsibilities and tasks include:
Overall technical responsibility for the product in collaboration with the product manager or project manager
Responsibility for managing all requirements, including the development, validation, and verification of requirements
Ensuring that the product meets the technical and system-specific needs of the customer and all stakeholders
Responsibility for ensuring that tasks are performed in accordance with applicable standards, NMS, and the project manual in effect at any given time
We are looking for someone who:
Has a strong technical foundation, preferably with several years of relevant experience in development or production.
Possesses general technical understanding and an interest in interdisciplinary issues.
Is able to see the big picture and understands interrelationships and interfaces.
Enjoys working with people and finding solutions together with others.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in Norwegian and English.
Relevant education (BSc, MSc, Ph.D.) in chemistry, materials science, or other relevant fields.
