Design and develop advanced installation solutions
As part of NKT’s onshore engineering department you will be surrounded by colleagues within various engineering disciplines.
NKT’s installation engineering department is highly versatile and regardless of your current skills you will be given the opportunity to broaden your engineering skills.
The engineers are deployed in project teams that are responsible for the preparation of complex projects from start to finish together with other departments and functions across NKT business.
As an Installation Design Engineer, you will support NKT’s Installation business line by designing and developing mechanical solutions for high-voltage cable systems. You’ll work with 2D/3D CAD tools to create technical drawings, perform structural analysis, and support manufacturing and installation processes.
You will be working with internal stakeholders such as engineers, project managers and site managers, but also clients and subcontractors.
The work you will do will be to prepare for installation activities at site. Hence it will be important to develop an understanding of the considerations required when working with different sites and the fundamental aspects of installing cables in an onshore and platform environment.
Your tasks will include:
• Design mechanical accessories, lay outs and jointing pits in 2D/3D CAD
• Develop installation techniques and perform cable pull-in analysis
• Create manufacturing drawings and technical documentation
• Conduct structural calculations and FEM analysis
• Provide technical support to installation and service teams
• Working with cable systems
• Implement standardization of work
• Working in both bigger and smaller projects
The role is based in Karlskrona, Sweden, and includes approximately 30 travel days per year, both domestically and internationally.

We are looking for a team-oriented and motivated person who performs well in a challenging work atmosphere. You're resourceful, results-driven, and can manage multiple projects efficiently. Your effective communication and problem-solving skills help you collaborate effectively across teams and cultures.
You also have:
• A BSc or higher in Mechanical, Structural, Civil, or Installation Engineering
• Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks), PLM/Windchill
• Experience with structural analysis, metal manufacturing, and technical documentation
• Experience with infrastructural system installations
• Experience with different applications and accessories for installation
• Fluency in English, additional languages are a plus
• Understanding of Cable system design and installation are Meritorious
