Job description:Drive innovation in mechanical designAre you ready to take the next step in your career as a mechanical designer? At NKT in Karlskrona, you’ll play a key role in the development of both new and existing products. You’ll work in a dynamic environment where collaboration and innovation are central. Develop and improve mechanical solutionsIn this role, you’ll work across the entire design chain—from concept development and layout to drawings and implementation. You’ll contribute your expertise to project teams and support colleagues in design, production development, and manufacturing. You’ll ensure that the work complies with applicable standards and create manufacturing documentation in close collaboration with external suppliers. Variety and problem-solving are a natural part of your daily routine.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Develop mechanical solutions from concept to final drawing
- Participate in projects and work independently on technical specifications
- Support colleagues in matters related to design, machinery, and manufacturing
- Ensure quality and compliance with internal and external standards
- Monitor manufacturing in consultation with external manufacturers

You also have:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, marine engineering, or mechanical engineering
- Previous experience in similar design roles
- Strong skills in 3D CAD and drawing production
- Fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
Desirable:
- Previous experience at NKT.
- Knowledge of welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, 3D printing, CE marking, and form and position.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks (3D-CAD) and Windchill (PLM) systems.
