Then you should apply for the position of traveling fitter at Service & Installation. As a traveling fitter you will work within Service & Installation. Your work includes assembly and installation of sea and land cables, including accessories, at NKT's various work sites around the world. You will be part of NKT's fitter department in Sweden with approximately 60 traveling fitters in the service and installation business. We also work together with fitter colleagues in Denmark, Germany, England and Poland. Travel for longer and shorter periods In your role as a traveling fitter, your main responsibilities will include: * Splicing and termination of cables Compliance with installation instructions/documents, which includes everything from minor installations to completing complete installations together with NKT's installation engineers. The number of travel days per year varies but is normally around 200 and the length of each assignment can vary from one week to two months. Some assignments take place offshore, which requires you to undergo and pass a health check for this. The position may also involve standby duty during certain periods. When you are not out on installation assignments, you work in Karlskrona. Then you work with maintenance of our equipment, planning and preparation of upcoming work, support in production or development, or develop your skills in our various technologies. Dedicated, careful and independent We are looking for you with a mechanical, electrical or fiber background. Many years of experience in splicing and termination, good cable understanding and welding skills are advantageous. You will be trained to be prepared for work on site. Furthermore, we see that you are a flexible person who can work under pressure and is prepared to go on an assignment at short notice. Working abroad also involves encountering other cultures and languages, which you need to be able to handle well. Your work requires commitment, great accuracy, technical aptitude and the ability to work both independently and in a team.
