Nordre Land municipality has from 01.08.2026 vacant two permanent 100% positions as directors in the kindergartens Tonlia and Øygardsjordet.
In Nordre Land, from August 2026, there are 4 medium-sized kindergartens in the municipality. As a director, you will be part of a solid director network that works with the operation and development of Nordre Land kindergarten as a community. All of the kindergartens participate in joint regional competence development in addition to their own development initiatives for the kindergartens locally. Investments are made in the kindergartens in the municipality by, among other things, having increased basic staffing for children over the age of 3.
Tonlia kindergarten is a 3-section kindergarten centrally located in a residential area in Dokka. The kindergarten makes use of the forest area and a brand new gapahuk right next to the kindergarten, but is also within walking distance of schools and the city center.
Øygardsjordet kindergarten is a 5-section kindergarten that is centrally located in a residential area in Dokka.
It has a short distance to the city center and Landmo, but also to nice hiking and forest areas. The kindergarten has its own barbecue hut right next to the kindergarten.
The purpose of the position will be to lead, operate and develop the kindergarten in line with plans, laws and agreements in collaboration with the staff.
Tasks
- Professional, administrative and financial management of the kindergarten.
- Overall staff responsibility and educational responsibility for the kindergarten.
- Contribute to good collaboration across the service areas in Nordre Land municipality, including close cooperation with schools, PPT, health nurses, family counselors, refugee services, child welfare services and others.
- Collaborate with the municipality's directors and kindergarten administration to develop the kindergarten area in a common direction based on a common vision: Of course we can! Great to be small in Nordre Land.
Qualifications
- High school/university education as a kindergarten teacher or equivalent college/university education that provides children's professional and pedagogical competence.
- Management education or other equivalent management education at master's level is desirable, but not a requirement.
- Competence and/or experience with work from COS kindergarten is an advantage.
- Experience with financial management, personnel management and professional management/development.
- Solid and relevant experience where personal suitability and good leadership skills are emphasized.
Personal qualities
- Independent, decisive and clear with good implementation ability, at the same time with good collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to build good teams, and sees it as an important part of leadership to include employees and trade unions in important processes.
- In development processes: focus on participation, involvement and co-creation.
- Awareness of the importance of one's own role as particularly important for the further development of the kindergarten's quality with a focus on the best interests of the child.
Personal suitability will be emphasized for the positions.
